Checked the bottom and it had a hairline crack running right through the cooking surface, which means it's done, not seasoned. What's the worst damaged gear you've seen somebody try to flip as vintage?
Wait so were people actually buying it or just picking it up and putting it back down? Cause there's a big difference between curious and stupid. I've seen a dude at a swap meet in Puyallup trying to sell a cracked Dutch oven for $80 that looked like it got dropped off a truck. He kept telling everyone it was "rare patina" and someone finally called him out on it. The crack thing gets me because a hairline in cast iron is not fixable, it's a paperweight, and anybody who cooks with iron knows that. Did he at least have a sign saying it was cracked or was he just hoping nobody would flip it over?
