My dad's old Stanley thermos finally showed its age after 22 years
I've been using my dad's old Stanley thermos for years, the classic green one with the steel cup lid. It's been through camping trips, work sites, and even got dropped off a tailgate once. Last month I noticed my coffee was lukewarm by lunch instead of hot. I figured the vacuum seal finally gave out after 22 years of daily use. I sent Stanley an email about it, expecting to pay for a repair, and they just sent me a new one for free under their warranty. That kind of customer service is why I keep buying their stuff. Has anyone else had luck getting a replacement from a company that actually stands behind their gear?

People forget that good warranties actually save money long term. Cheap stuff breaks every year so you buy it again and again. That adds up way more than one solid purchase. Same thing happens with boots and tents and tools everywhere now. Everyone wants the lowest price upfront. Then they wonder why nothing lasts anymore. Companies like Stanley get clowned for being "overpriced" until your buddy's fifth cheap thermos rusts out. You end up paying either way. Might as well have something that works when you need it.

Hate to be the downer here but honestly this is exactly why prices are through the roof on everything now. Companies build the cost of these "lifetime warranties" right into the sticker price so everyone pays extra for the few people who actually use them. Your dad got 22 years out of that thermos which is already way more than you should expect from any product. They probably just sent you a cheaper made one anyway since they had to cut corners somewhere to offer free replacements. And now you're locked into their brand forever because you feel loyal about a cup that they legally had to replace.
