My buddy Rick in Toledo claimed a $12 pair of wool socks would outlast my $40 ones, and 3 winters later I owe him an apology
I laughed at him back in 2021 because I figured price means quality when it comes to socks, but his cheap wool pair is still going strong while mine got holes by the second season. I finally dug his pair out of my drawer last week and there is one tiny thin spot on the heel and that is it, so now I am wondering what else I have been overpaying for. What is the cheapest piece of gear you own that has outlasted the fancy stuff?
