My 12 year old Sigg bottle finally gave out, the replacement cost shocked me
I've carried the same 1 liter aluminum Sigg bottle since college in 2013. It survived camping trips, bike commutes, and countless drops on concrete. Last week the liner finally started flaking, so I checked their site and a similar new one runs $45 now. That felt wild to me, especially since a plastic Nalgene is like $13 and lasts forever too. Is the aluminum worth double the price for anyone else, or should I just switch to a steel bottle like a Klean Kanteen? I'm leaning toward steel but want to hear from folks who have owned both long term.

Heard the price jump is cause they redesigned the liner in 2019, but steel still outlasts everything.
