Just realized my old cast iron skillet from 1987 is still my favorite pan

Last Tuesday I dug out my grandma's old cast iron skillet to make cornbread. I've tried fancy nonstick pans over the years but that thing just works better every time. The seasoning on it is so dark and smooth after all those decades. Has anyone else found older gear that just outperforms the new stuff?

Snagged my dad's old leather belt from 1986 and it still holds up better than anything I've bought since.

My friend found her grandfather's old belt from the 70s in a box. It was thick, dark brown leather with a simple brass buckle. She wore it to a wedding last year and some guy asked if it was vintage. She just laughed and said it was older than both of them combined. Thing is still going strong, no cracks or nothing.
