Am I the only one who thinks a 10-year-old laptop is better than any new budget model?
My ThinkPad from 2014 just hit 10 years with zero repairs, while my buddy's $400 new laptop died after 18 months. I spent $50 on a new battery and an SSD last week, and it runs faster than his replacement. Has anyone else stuck with an old machine that long?

Read a repair shop blog saying older ThinkPads are basically indestructible compared to new junk.

My 2012 MacBook Pro is still my daily driver. I put in a new SSD and maxed the RAM for under 100 bucks. It handles everything I throw at it including light video editing. My sister bought a 300 dollar HP last year and the hinge snapped in 6 months. These old machines were built to last. New budget stuff is basically disposable.
