Hand-sharpening every blade consumed my whole weekend.

Way too much time for a basic task.

Most people forget to factor in setup and cleanup time. Digging out the sharpening stones, finding the right angle, then cleaning up all the metal dust. That stuff adds hours. A jig or guide can cut the actual work in half.

Switched to a cheap clamp guide from the hardware store and it changed the game. My kitchen knives went from dull to sharp in like twenty minutes instead of a whole afternoon. Still get that hand sharpened edge without the headache of freehand guesswork. Total lifesaver for someone who just wants to cut veggies without a whole project lol.

Totally, and it saves setup time too like Logan said.
