Wasted $35 on a set of fineliners that bled through every single page of my new Leuchtturm

I thought I was being smart buying a 10-pack of some random brand off Amazon, but the ink bled so bad I could see doodles from 3 pages back. Has anyone else fallen for cheap pens ruining their whole spread setup?

My grandson got me some of those off-brand markers for my birthday and I had to throw out the whole card I was making, just a mess of ink bleeding through. Now I stick to Staedtler or nothing, learned that lesson the hard way.

Wait, your grandson got you off-brand markers for your birthday and you didn't just smile and set them aside? How do you even throw out a whole card without testing the pen on a scrap piece of paper first? I learned that the hard way with a $15 pack of "premium" gel pens that turned my bullet journal into a swampy mess of blue fuzz. Now I keep a cheap notepad just for swatching anything new, even the stuff that looks fancy in the package.
