Washi tape index in my monthly spread, unexpected side effect

I started taping a small strip of each washi roll onto the monthly calendar key so I could match patterns fast, but after 3 weeks I noticed my brain remembers the layouts better now. It seems the visual cue sticks more than writing the name, plus it helps me spot which rolls I overuse. Has anyone else tried a physical sample strip system like this and found it changes how they plan?
