Using the wrong pens for 6 months straight

I kept wondering why my monthly spreads looked so smudgy and messy. Turns out I was using regular ballpoint pens instead of the fine tip markers everyone talks about. I finally figured it out when I saw a post showing a side by side comparison with a Staedtler fineliner and realized my mistake. Has anyone else gone that long doing something dumb before someone pointed it out?

Three months in with my first bullet journal I was using a Pilot G2 and wondering why my ink bled through everything. Someone in a Facebook group casually mentioned "tombow" and I felt like an idiot. Now I just stick with fine tip markers and it's way cleaner.

and here i was thinking my handwriting just got worse over time. turns out i was basically using a pen meant for signing receipts on a credit card machine. @the_elliot i feel you on the g2 bleedthrough, i had the same exact issue with a pack of bic cristals i bought in bulk. six months is impressive though, i bet you could win some kind of award for stubbornness. i finally caved and bought a set of microns and now i feel like a real adult who has their life together.
