Update: the lady at the Tucson art supply store saw my dot grid and said I was wasting half my notebook
She showed me how she flips hers sideways and uses the grid as columns instead of rows, and now I get twice the tracker space out of one page, anyone else doing this?
The lady at the Tucson store is onto something, but flipping your page sideways doesn't get you twice the tracker space, it just changes the shape of it. A dot grid has the exact same number of dots no matter which way you turn it, so you're not gaining dots, you're just getting wider rows instead of taller columns. What you gain is that the grid runs the long way, which fits layouts like weekly spreads or habit trackers with lots of columns way better. I do this in my A5 and it feels like more room even though the page size never changed.
