Update: My simple monthly layout failed completely after 3 weeks
I switched to a bare bones monthly layout in my Leuchtturm1917 back in early February. By the 21st everything was a mess - tasks blurred together and I missed 2 deadlines for work. I went back to my old weekly spreads with time blocking and it fixed the chaos. Has anyone else tried simplifying and had it backfire like this?

Your monthly spread failed because you skipped the weekly review step. Those 5 minutes every Sunday to migrate tasks and check progress is what keeps a simple system from turning into a pile of crossed-out dates. Without that reset, any layout falls apart by week three.
