Unpopular opinion: spending 5 hours on a weekly spread is totally fine

I see everyone bragging about 15 minute spreads but my first full week layout took me 5 hours over 2 days because I kept messing up the boxes lol. Has anyone else just accepted they're slow and moved on?

Wait hold on, I gotta push back on the "mess up the boxes" thing. That's not messing up, that's just learning how your ruler or pen behaves on the paper. When I first started I spent like 3 hours just trying to get lines straight with a cheap felt tip pen and it bled everywhere. Now I use a fine liner that dries fast and my boxes come out clean in one pass. So if you spent 5 hours because you kept fixing lines, that's totally normal for figuring out your tools. What kind of pen were you using?

Good point @noah_webb, my buddy Mike spent a whole Saturday fighting with a fountain pen that bled like crazy on his sketchpad. He kept erasing and redrawing until the paper started to tear up. Now he uses a regular Micron and his boxes come out clean every time, no fuss.
