Tried to make a custom yearly calendar spread. It took me three hours to get the spacing right.

I always thought that stuff was quick until I tried it myself, and @carr.james is right about the payoff being worth the pain.

Three hours sounds about right for that kind of fiddly work. I once spent an entire evening just trying to line up some columns on a spreadsheet. The payoff is nice, but man, the process can really test your patience.

See, I just don't get that payoff feeling. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but after three hours of that stuff my brain is just fried. The work feels gone, not rewarding. I get what @benk26 is saying about the surprise of how long it takes, but the pain part never turns into gain for me. It's just a chore that makes me hate the project by the end. The final product looks fine, but I'm too annoyed to even care.
