Six months of weekly habit tracking finally showed me why I kept quitting guitar
I started bullet journaling back in January just to keep up with work stuff. But I added a simple habit tracker for practicing guitar, thinking I'd do 20 minutes a day. For the first three weeks I skipped it almost every day and felt guilty about it. Then I looked back at my tracker after three months and saw a clear pattern. I only practiced on days when my morning coffee was at home, not on the road. That little detail changed everything. I started moving my practice time to 7 PM instead of 7 AM and now I hit 5 days a week easy. Has anyone else found a weird time-of-day connection like that from their tracker?

Did you ever check what the temperature was like in your practice room? I had a similar thing with running, turns out I was avoiding it because my morning runs were always in the freezing cold. Switched to lunchtime and now it's no big deal.

Wait, but did you ever notice how the temperature thing can mess with your motivation even when it's not freezing? I mean, for me it was the opposite problem - my practice room was always way too hot because of the window facing the sun. @the_oscar made me realize maybe it's not about being lazy, it's just the body reacting to discomfort you don't even notice. Once I got a little fan and cooled it down, suddenly practicing didn't feel like a chore. Idk, seems like small stuff like that can totally change how you feel about doing something.
