My supervisor said my habit spreads were too cluttered so I cut to 3 colors max

She pointed out I was using 8 different pens for weekly logs and nothing was actually trackable at a glance. Has anyone else had to completely simplify their system based on feedback from a coworker who saw their journal?

That's a really interesting point about getting feedback from a coworker. I read somewhere that bullet journaling is supposed to be about capturing info fast, not making art. Maybe 3 colors is the sweet spot for actually seeing what matters.

Wait, THREE colors is the sweet spot? Seriously? I mean I know people go overboard with like 12 different highlighters but I can barely remember to grab one pen half the time. That feels kinda wild to me, like you'd still be spending more time switching markers than actually writing things down.

Started buying those multi pack pens, the ones with four colors in one clicky thing, and now I just click through them randomly while I'm reading. Half the time I end up circling a word in orange for no reason at all. Maybe three isn't about switching so much as settling on the ones that actually help.
