My January spread fell apart by day 9 and I'm sort of okay with it

I set up this super detailed weekly layout with color coded sections for work, meals, and reading. By the 9th, I had this huge gap where I just scribbled 'forgot this existed' across three days. I mean, maybe it's just me but the rigid layouts never survive real life. I switched to a bare bones daily log with just a line for tasks and a line for notes. Has anyone else had to trash a fancy setup halfway through the month and go back to basics?

I used to think those fancy layouts were the whole point of bullet journaling, like the prettier the spread the more productive you'd be. Then I spent two hours making a gorgeous monthly tracker with little icons for every habit and abandoned it by the 5th because I kept forgetting to fill in the tiny boxes. Now I just write the date, three tasks max, and a squiggle for how I felt that day. Honestly, the scribble version has been way more honest and way less stressful.
