My index key went from genius to chaos in 4 months
I started color coding my monthly log and rapid logging with symbols last January, but by April I forgot what half of them meant and gave up tracking anything. Has anyone else ditched a complicated key system for just writing plain words?

That's the worst feeling, when your own system becomes another chore to decode and you just say screw it.

wait, color coding AND symbols? i tried combining a legend with a weekly habit tracker once and by week two i was flipping back three pages just to check if the little triangle meant 'scheduled' or 'rescheduled.' it's wild to me that people commit that much memory to a notebook system. plain words feel boring but at least i can read them on a bad day, you know?
