My Google Calendar setup made me give up my daily log after 45 days

I tried switching to full digital planning for a month and a half because my paper journal kept getting buried under work papers. Surprisingly, it worked better than I expected. I could move appointments around without erasing, set reminders for bills, and even color code my kids' activities. But last week I had a power outage for 2 days and my whole system fell apart. I missed a dentist appointment and paid a $40 no-show fee. I went back to my trusty notebook today. Has anyone else tried going digital and then crawled back to paper? What made you decide? Or did anyone stick with digital after a similar glitch?

That line about the power outage wrecking your whole system really hits home. I read an article a while back about how "digital fragility" is a real thing, like we trust our phones way too much until the wifi dies or the battery runs out. The author pointed out that paper never needs a charger or a signal, which sounds obvious but somehow we forget it. Your $40 no-show fee is exactly the kind of stuff that adds up fast. I keep a paper backup for anything that actually costs me money if I miss it, and digital for the stuff I just need to remember.
