My favorite gel pen exploded inside my journal last Tuesday

I was using a Pilot G2 0.7mm and it just started leaking all over my monthly spread. Ruined about 3 pages of habit tracking and notes I had for February. Anyone had luck getting ink stains out of Tomoe River paper or is it just a loss?

Honestly I used to always defend G2s but after mine blew up in my bag last month I'm kinda over them. For Tomoe River I tried dabbing with a damp cloth and it just smeared worse, pretty sure it's a loss once the ink pools like that.

3 years using G2s and not one leak until I switched to the 1.0mm tips, then bam ink everywhere. @ericgonzalez did you ever leave yours in a hot car or was it like a random thing?
