Lost 3 weeks of spreads after my cat sat on my notebook at a coffee shop in Portland

I was at Stumptown on Division working on my June layout. Set my notebook down for one second to grab my drink. Cat was home alone, obviously. When I flipped it back open, there was a coffee ring the size of a saucer right through my weekly spreads and my habit tracker. Ink smeared everywhere. I tried to salvage it with whiteout but gave up after 20 minutes. Now I keep a backup index card in my wallet with just the key dates and tasks. Also started using a clip to hold pages shut when it's not in use. Has anyone else had a pet or spill destroy their journal mid-month? How do you recover without starting over?

Did the cat at least look guilty while it happened?
