I used to buy the fancy $30 dotted notebooks but now I just use composition books from the grocery store

That "pen bleeds through" part is exactly why I switched back too.

I get what you're saying but I have to push back on the "fancy $30 dotted notebooks" part. Those cheap composition books fall apart on me by page 30, the paper is so thin my pen bleeds through everything I write. I gave up on the grocery store ones after getting halfway through a project and realizing the binding was already cracked and pages were falling out. The dotted ones keep my handwriting neat without having to draw lines, and the 100gsm paper means I can use whatever pen I want without worrying. To each their own though, if the composition books work for you that's great.
