Finally got my weekly spread to stop looking like a mess

I kept making these huge, complicated weekly layouts that took an hour and still looked terrible. Last week I tried something dumb simple - just a vertical list of days down one side with a small box for each. No trackers, no doodles, no color coding. Took me 8 minutes and I actually used it every day. Has anyone else found a stripped down approach that works better than the fancy spreads?

Had a friend who bought all the fancy washi tapes and stickers for her bujo, then realized she was just spending more time decorating than actually planning. She scratched it all and now uses a single black pen and a ruler, nothing else. Her spreads look boring as heck but she says it's the first time she's stuck with it past February.
