A heads up about those cheap dot grid notebooks from the big craft store chain
I bought a 3-pack of the Artist's Loft dot grid journals from Michaels last month, and the paper quality is a real problem. My fountain pen ink bleeds through so badly I can't use the back of any page, which defeats the whole point of a bullet journal for tracking. Has anyone found a good budget notebook that actually holds up to ink?

Ugh, been there. Have you tried the Exceed notebooks from Walmart? The 100gsm ones are surprisingly good with ink and still pretty cheap.

Honestly sounds like a paper lottery with those things. One book is great, the next feels like writing on a plastic bag. Might just stick to the known brands to avoid the gamble.

Actually had a bad run with those Exceed notebooks @kaimartinez. The paper felt weirdly slick to me, like my gel pens would just skate on top and then smudge super easy. Maybe I just got a bad batch, but it was a total mess.
