Why does nobody talk about reverse budgeting for groceries
I used to track every single item I bought at the store, trying to stick to a $75 weekly budget. Then I realized I was spending 20 minutes a day logging receipts and still going over. My coworker in Austin told me she just sets aside $300 cash at the start of the month, and once it's gone, she works with what's in her pantry. Has anyone else found a simpler method that actually works better than traditional tracking?

Didn't my friend try this, and then just order takeout halfway through the month?

honestly though, does it even matter that much if you order takeout once or twice? like yeah the whole point is to save money but if you're stressing yourself out trying to cook every single meal you're gonna burn out faster than a cheap lighter. i swear some people act like one slip up means the whole month is ruined. life happens man, just order the damn pizza and move on, you're not gonna go broke over it.
