The $35 monthly fee that nearly broke my grocery budget
For 2 years I was buying all my meat at the fancy organic market downtown because I thought it was the only place with decent quality. Last week my sister dragged me to Aldi and I grabbed a pack of chicken thighs for $4.50 that tasted exactly the same. I had been paying $35 extra per month just for the privilege of shopping somewhere more expensive. Has anyone else found a store they assumed was bad that actually saved them money?

Oh man, don't you love paying the "I'm too fancy to shop at Aldi" tax for two years? At least your wallet finally got parole.

@keithharris nailed it with that "fancy tax" thing. I used to be the same way, thought Aldi was for people who had to save money. Now I practically live there.
