Parking garage change jar trick saved me $40 this month

I park at the county garage near the courthouse every weekday for work. Last Tuesday I noticed the ticket machine gives back change in coins and tons of people just walk off without grabbing them. I scooped up about $1.40 that day plus another $2.10 by Friday checking the trays and the little ledge by the exit gate. Now I grab a handful every time I pay and my coffee fund is basically free this month. Anyone else find spare cash in random public places or am I just digging in the wrong spots?
