My neighbor in apartment 4B showed me her grocery receipt from last Friday.

She buys everything on sale and then cooks big batches on Sunday, so her bill was only $65 for the whole week. I always just grab stuff when I need it and spend way more. How do you guys plan your food shopping to keep costs low?

My cousin started doing that and now she has a freezer full of chili. It works but you have to really like leftovers.

Your cousin's freezer situation is a common side effect. I did the same thing with soup last winter and got tired of it after two weeks. The trick is to pick recipes that freeze well but also keep a couple fresh meal options in rotation. It stops the leftover fatigue @adams.vera mentioned.

A freezer FULL of chili... that's a lot of beans.
