My grocery budget finally dropped under $300 a month for my family of three

I've been tracking every dollar at Kroger for six months and this week's total was $287. I switched to mostly store brands and started planning meals around sales flyers. Has anyone else gotten their food costs this low with kids?

My grocery budget looks like a phone number from the 80s. I spent $112 last week just on snacks for my two boys, and I'm pretty sure half of it turned into crumbs in the car seats. You planning meals around the flyer is next level, I'm over here planning them around whose chicken nugget shape they won't complain about this time.

Oh man, my snack aisle strategy is basically "whatever is on sale and won't make me want to cry when I find it ground into the floor mats." I'm pretty sure my back seat has its own little ecosystem growing out of crushed goldfish and dinosaur-shaped fruit snacks at this point. At least the nugget shape complaints keep it interesting, right?

That's some serious coupon-clipping dedication right there.
