Tried the 'pack in a carry on' trick and my toiletries exploded in the overhead bin

I was on a Ryanair flight from Barcelona to London last month, smug about saving 40 euros by not checking a bag. Somewhere over France, my travel shampoo bottle popped open and drenched my only pair of jeans in lavender goo. Landed looking like I had an accident and had to rinse my pants in a McDonald's bathroom before my hostel check-in. Has anyone else had a liquids disaster mid-flight?

Roll your eyes all you want but a little shampoo on your jeans isn't the end of the world, you could have just worn them damp for a bit. I've had worse happen when a cheap cologne bottle leaked in my bag and everything smelled like an 80s prom for a week. Idk, it's annoying but you sound like you're dressing it up for the story more than the actual disaster.
