The day I found a $3 breakfast buffet in Osaka and ate there twice
A tiny hotel near Namba had a buffet that cost less than a convenience store onigiri, so I skipped lunch both days to justify going back, has anyone else found a place that cheap that actually had real eggs?

Did the eggs actually taste like eggs, or were they that powdered stuff that looks right but has no soul? Because I found a 500 yen place in Kyoto that had real scrambled eggs but they were cold and slightly rubbery, which is its own kind of disappointment. The trick with those crazy cheap buffets is usually the toast and miso soup are safe, but anything else is a gamble. I once ate at a 300 yen spot in Fukuoka and the "omelet" was basically a yellow pancake with a weird sweet taste. You got lucky if the eggs were legit, that's basically winning the breakfast lottery.
