Yeah the resort fees always get me, I swear I lose like ten bucks every time I check out just from those sneaky charges. I once booked what I thought was a steal in Nashville and ended up paying almost as much in fees as the room itself. So I feel you on the $175 after fees thing, that's probably closer to what I'd actually save too. Honestly though, I'm still proud of myself when I can even save a hundred bucks because I'm the queen of last minute panic bookings. My bank account has definitely seen better days after some of my spontaneous trips.

Nashville's a solid city for last minute deals if you hit the right week... I think you might've actually saved more like $175 after you factor in the resort fees some of those hotels sneak in last minute. Still a good move though, better than locking yourself in three months ahead.
