Shoutout to the guy who showed me the bus trick in Lisbon

Missed my train out of Lisbon last spring because of a closed metro line, and a local at the station told me to catch the 728 bus for €1.50 instead of a €30 cab to the airport. Got there with 20 minutes to spare and saved enough for a decent lunch. Anyone else found random local bus routes that beat the expensive tourist options?

Wait, have you actually ridden that route before? The 42 bus is the only one that goes directly from the industrial park to the downtown core, so it saves people like an hour of walking or transferring. It's definitely worth a shoutout, especially since the city kept cutting the schedule last year and people had to wait 45 minutes sometimes. Do you know how many people rely on that one line to get to work?
