Rant: The $9 airport sandwich at Chicago Midway made me start packing my own food for every flight
Grabbed a basic turkey sandwich and a bottle of water at Midway last Tuesday and the total hit $19. Same stuff costs me about $4 at the grocery store near my place. Who else has a go-to cheap meal they always bring through security?
Nine bucks for a turkey sandwich is wild, they basically charge you rent for the bread. TSA should hand out snacks as an apology at that point, lmao. My go-to is a bag of trail mix and a couple of those little peanut butter packs, costs like two bucks and nobody bats an eye at security. Bonus is you don't have to remortgage your house for a sad airport lunch. Only thing you gotta watch is the liquids rule so keep the water bottle empty and fill it at the fountain past the checkpoint.
