Hostel in Barcelona overbooked my bed last month
Showed up at 11pm after a delayed flight and they had given my bed away. Had to pay $60 for a last minute room nearby. Anyone dealt with overbooking at hostels before and got compensated?

Got charged for a "no show" even though I was standing right there.

Ugh that is SO frustrating. I used to be one of those people who thought no-show fees were always fair, like if you book a slot you should be there. But honestly seeing posts like yours from @jones.brooke really changed my mind. There's gotta be some kind of grace period or way to prove you were there, especially with all the app glitches out there. It's not like you were being careless, you were literally standing right there. That's just bad policy.

Hold up though - you booked a bed not a guarantee they have to hold it all night for you.
