Got called out for always booking flights on a Tuesday

My buddy Mark saw my screen at a cafe. I was looking at flights to Denver. He said, 'You know that Tuesday thing is a myth, right? You're just seeing the same prices.' I argued, but he showed me on his phone. Searched the same route on a Friday. Price was within five bucks. I felt dumb. I'd been doing that for two years. Now I just set a price alert and book whenever it hits my number, any day. Saves so much mental energy. Anyone else have a travel 'rule' they found out was totally wrong?

Yeah, I was totally in that camp too. I mean, I used to swear by booking exactly six weeks out because some article said that was the sweet spot. Then I tracked a few trips and realized the prices were all over the place, no pattern at all. Now I just watch them like you do and jump when it looks good.

Remember my buddy who booked six months early like @troyh55 said? Prices dropped by half two weeks before the trip, no joke.
