Friend swore by booking flights on Tuesdays at 2AM, so I tried it for a trip to Denver

My buddy Mark kept telling me that airlines drop deals at like 2 in the morning on Tuesdays. I was skeptical but I set an alarm for 1:45 AM last week to look up flights to Denver for a weekend in March. The price was $187 round trip which was about $40 less than what I saw the day before during normal hours. I don't know if it was the time or just luck but I saved enough to cover a nice dinner out there. Has anyone else actually had luck with this or is it mostly a myth?

Makes sense, harder to impulse buy a flight at 2AM when you're half asleep.

Yeah, I saw some article saying how airlines always bump prices late at night because they know people get impulsive. Makes you wonder what else they're doing behind the scenes...
