Back when I used to book bus tickets at the station counter instead of online
Last week I was scrolling through bus options from Austin to Dallas and realized I paid $18 for a ticket that used to cost me $45 just three years ago at the Greyhound counter. Has anyone else noticed how much cheaper third-party booking apps have gotten compared to walking up to the window?

ellis.susan that "convenience fees" thing got me thinking about the time I tried to book a bus from Nashville to Memphis at the station counter and the guy behind the glass literally told me "that'll be $52 plus a $3 paper ticket fee." I was so mad I walked out and used my phone right there on the sidewalk. The app charged me $28 and the only extra fee was like a dollar. I know people hate hidden fees but sometimes the "convenience" of standing in line actually costs you more in the end.

Are those third-party apps really cheaper after you factor in the "convenience fees" they love to sneak in?
