A $6 motel room in Tulsa that ruined every nice hotel for me
Back in 2009 I booked a $6 room near the Tulsa bus station just to sleep four hours between buses, and the guy at the desk threw in free coffee and a map of the cheap taco spots. Compare that to a $140 spot I stayed at last month where the ice machine was broken and parking cost extra, and I keep wondering why the cheap night felt like more of a win. Has anyone else had a budget stay that somehow beat the fancy ones, and what made it work?
