Why does nobody talk about my budget bean casserole that turned out gritty?

I was so excited to put together a big bean casserole for the week to save cash. I got a bunch of dry beans on sale and soaked them overnight. But I guess I didn't rinse them enough, because the whole thing turned out way too gritty, lol. I added tomato sauce and spices, but the grit just ruined the texture. When I tried to eat it, it felt like sand in my mouth, no joke. I had to throw most of it out, which was a total waste of money. Lesson learned: always rinse your beans like crazy, even if you're in a hurry. Still bummed about it, but at least now I know better for next time.

Doubt it's that serious, just try again with better rinsing.

Sounds like you accidentally made a beach-themed casserole. Bet that grittiness would pair well with a side of seashells.
