Was dead set against frozen veggies until my grocery bill hit $85 last week

I always thought fresh was cheaper and better, but after comparing prices at Aldi, a bag of frozen broccoli was $1.29 versus $3.50 for fresh - and it didn't go bad in three days. Anyone else have a budget trick they ignored for way too long?

Is it bad that my "budget trick I ignored for way too long" was just finally admitting I don't have the discipline to meal plan? I used to buy a whole head of cauliflower, swear I'd roast it, then find it liquified in the back of the fridge a week later. Now I just grab a bag of frozen florets and call it a win. My freezer is basically a monument to my inability to get my life together, but hey, at least I'm not wasting money anymore.

Frozen veggies saved my wallet and my sanity too.

Did you ever try roasting them straight from frozen without thawing first? It took me way too long to figure that out, I used to leave a bag on the counter for hours like a fool. Now I just toss frozen broccoli in olive oil and salt, straight into a hot oven for 20 minutes and it comes out crispy every time.
