Tried that 'freeze your rice' hack for meal prep and it backfired hard

I saw all those TikTok videos about freezing cooked rice to make it healthier or whatever, so I made a big batch of jasmine rice last Sunday for the week. Threw it in the freezer in ziplock bags after it cooled down like they said. When I reheated a bag on Tuesday, it came out all dry and crumbly, not fluffy at all. I tried adding a splash of water before microwaving but it just turned into this weird gummy paste in spots. My burrito bowl looked like a science experiment gone wrong. What I learned is that not all rice freezes the same, and jasmine rice definitely does not bounce back like long grain does. Anyone have a specific type of rice that actually works for freezing without turning into a mess?

You tried adding water and it still got gummy... how long did you actually microwave it for?

Wait what... you actually microwaved it again after adding water? That's wild @knight.taylor, I would've just tossed it and started over. Gummy ramen is the worst, like Chewy noodles that just don't bounce back. My cousin did that once with a cup noodle and it turned into a gluey mess, had to throw the whole bowl away. Yours must've been like eating paste or something.
