Tried a can of chickpeas in my pasta sauce and it was a game changer
I was out of ground beef and tossed in a drained can of chickpeas instead. They soaked up the tomato flavor and made the sauce way more filling for like $0.89. What other cheap pantry items do you guys use to bulk up a meal?

Wait, did you drain the chickpeas? I always save the liquid from the can, it's called aquafaba. You can whip it like egg whites for desserts or use it to thicken sauces. For bulking up meals, a handful of red lentils totally disappears into soups and pasta sauce. They cook fast and add protein without changing the flavor much.

Hold up, you can actually whip that bean juice into like, meringue? That's wild. I've been pouring it down the drain for years like a fool. The lentil tip is solid though, I toss them into my chili and you really can't tell they're in there. Gonna try the aquafaba thing next time I make brownies, see if it works.
