TIL I was wasting so much money on fresh herbs
I was about to toss a bunch of wilted cilantro when my roommate pointed out you can freeze chopped herbs in olive oil in an ice cube tray. I tried it with parsley and it saved me $5 this month alone. Anyone have other tricks for making pricey ingredients last?

Always thought freezing herbs would ruin them.

My buddy was the same as @blairj55, swore freezing made herbs mushy. Then his basil plant went nuts, so he chopped a bunch, packed it into an ice tray with olive oil. Used a cube in his spaghetti sauce last week and said it tasted like summer, totally changed his mind.

Wait, you were just throwing away wilted cilantro? That's like watching money turn into slime in your fridge. Freezing in oil is a total game changer, it locks in the flavor way better than those dried dust herbs in a jar. I do it with basil and oregano too, just pop out a cube for soups or pasta sauce. Honestly, the ice cube tray trick is the only reason my cooking tastes halfway decent on a budget.
