TIL a $7 bag of lentils from Aldi lasted me 2 weeks of lunches

Last month I was broke after paying rent and staring at an empty fridge. Picked up a 2 pound bag of lentils for under 7 bucks at the Aldi on Broadway. Added some old carrots and an onion I had. Made a big pot of soup Sunday night. Ate it every day for 14 days straight. Still had lentils left over. Did anyone else discover a cheap staple like this that actually fills you up?

Heard my buddy survived a whole week on just a bag of rice and soy sauce once.

Hit up @emerycarr and tell him to try adding some frozen veggies to that rice, makes a world of difference. It's funny how the stuff that's always been cheap - lentils, beans, rice - is suddenly the only thing keeping a lot of us afloat these days. Seems like people are finally waking up to the fact that a simple pot of soup is way more reliable than overpriced meal kits or fast food.
