The biggest mistake I see with dried beans

I keep watching people in the grocery store grab canned beans instead of dried ones and it drives me nuts. Dried beans cost like $1.50 a pound and that gives you about 6 servings compared to $2 for a tiny can that serves 2. You just have to soak them overnight and cook for an hour the next day. I do a big batch every Sunday and freeze portions for quick meals during the week. Has anyone else made the switch and found it saves them more than they expected?

Nah, canned beans are already cooked and perfect for when I'm too lazy to plan ahead.

Oh man, totally get it @derek_ramirez, I used to be all about canned beans for the convenience too. But after reading this I tried a big batch of dried pintos last weekend and honestly it was way easier than I expected. The cost savings are pretty wild when you think about how much more you get for basically the same prep work.
