PSA: I thought dried beans were a hassle, then a coworker in Tulsa showed me her Sunday pot
I always figured canned beans were worth the extra dollar because soaking dried ones overnight sounded like a whole project. My coworker in Tulsa brought in a pot of pinto beans she made from a $1.79 bag that fed her family of four for two dinners, and she said she just boils them while she does laundry. How long do you all soak yours, or does anyone skip it and just cook them longer?
Boiling beans while doing laundry is the most Oklahoma multitasking I have ever heard. Honestly the overnight soak is overrated, I just rinse them, toss them in the pot, and let them go an extra hour while I forget they exist. Your coworker basically cracked the code, dried beans are cheap and easy once you stop treating them like a science fair project.
