My slow cooker lid shattered into a million pieces on Tuesday

I was just trying to make a cheap pot of beans and heard this huge crack. Now I'm using a dinner plate as a lid and it's not sealing right at all. Anyone have a good fix for a broken crockpot lid that doesn't cost more than the pot itself?

My old 6-quart Rival did the same thing last winter, just exploded while I was making chili. I used heavy duty foil too, like taylorlewis said, but I folded it over a few times to make it sturdier. It steamed up the kitchen but the food turned out fine. Andrew_miller90 is right though, it does look pretty janky sitting there. I ended up finding a replacement lid on eBay for like twelve bucks after a couple weeks of the foil method.

I mean I just used heavy duty foil and it worked fine for me. Maybe try that until you find a cheap replacement lid online.
