My aunt June's advice about stretching ground beef actually worked
My aunt June told me years ago that adding a grated carrot and some finely chopped mushrooms to ground beef would make it go further and taste better. I thought she was crazy honestly. But last month I had to feed 6 people with just one pound of beef so I tried it out. I grated one carrot and chopped up like 4 mushrooms really tiny and mixed them in with the meat for tacos. Nobody even noticed and I got at least 3 more tacos out of the batch. The texture was actually better too not as dry. Has anyone else tried mixing veggies into ground meat for saving money or do you have a different trick?

Wait, your guests didn't notice any difference at all? That's hard to believe.

Did you really have a bunch of people over and none of them said a thing? That's wild to me. People always notice stuff like that, even if they don't say it out loud. They might be too polite to mention it, but they definitely see the difference. I've had friends comment on a new throw pillow before, so something bigger would be obvious. Guess it depends on your crowd though.
