My $50 instant pot stopped sealing mid-dinner last night

I was making a lentil soup for meal prep in my apartment kitchen near Philly. The lid wouldn't seal no matter how much I twisted it, so steam just shot out everywhere for 20 minutes. Ended up dumping the whole thing into a regular pot and finishing it on the stove, which took forever. Has anyone else had their pressure cooker gasket fail right when you need it most?

She was making chili and the gasket just gave up halfway through, had to do the same thing you did. Ended up ordering a pack of replacement gaskets off Amazon for like 8 bucks, been fine since.

Makes you wonder how many everyday failures are just one cheap replacement part away from being solved.
